Ronald J. Artinian has served as a director since 1992, and he was appointed as Chairman of FREIT in April 2018 following the retirement of the late Robert S. Hekemian as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FREIT. Mr. Artinian’s current term as a member of the Board is scheduled to expire at the 2025 annual meeting of FREIT’s stockholders, and his term as Chairman will expire at such time as his successor is appointed and qualifies.
Mr. Artinian worked in the financial services industry for 26 years, including with Smith Barney, Inc. from 1989 to 1998, where he held positions as an Executive Vice President, Managing Director, and National Sales Manager. Mr. Artinian retired from Smith Barney in January 1998 in order to pursue other business interests as a private investor.
Professional Experience
Mr. Artinian joined the board of The Reserve, a money market fund, in 2007 and served as lead independent director from March 2009 through December 2016. His leadership experience spans executive financial management, investment oversight, and corporate governance within prominent financial institutions and investment organizations.
Education
Mr. Artinian earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School.
